The questioner : O esteemed Shaykh, he saysThe questioner : It is reported in a hadith: that
Whoever sits in his place of prayer after the Fajr prayer until the sun rises is like one who has performed a complete Hajj and 'Umrah من جلس في مصلاه بعد صلاة الفجر إلى طلوع الشمس كان كحجة وعمرة تامة تامة
or as it was reported in the hadith. Does this mean that whoever does this receives a reward like that of Hajj and 'Umrah, or how is that?

The Shaykh : Yes. First: there is a discussion regarding this hadith. Many of the memorizers of hadith have graded it as weak.
Second: even if it were authentic, there is no analogy in reward. A person may be rewarded for a small deed with the reward of a large deed, because reward is a favor from Allah (Mighty and Majestic) which He grants to whom He wills. Yes.
