The Shaykh : You know the story of the Jews and their hunting on the day of the Sabbath through the method of deception, and this is mentioned in the Noble Qur'an. There is a hadith that may be unknown to some, in which he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The point is his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): meaning they took the forbidden fats believing that they were right, that these fats are forbidden, and this is explicitly stated in the Noble Qur'an. [An-Nisa 4:160] Another verse explicitly mentions the fats, the intestines, and the like. So they believed that eating these fats is not permissible. What did they do? They took them and threw them into the pots and lit the fire underneath them, so they took on another form. Satan made this form attractive to them, making them believe that the ruling had changed and the prohibition had ceased, because this was no longer the fat that Allah forbade in the Noble Qur'an. So the Messenger cursed them with explicit text: Sahih Muslim 1582a meaning they melted them. Sunan Abi Dawud 3488Sahih (Al-Albani)
May Allah curse the Jews. The fats were forbidden to them, so they rendered them, then sold them, and they ate their price. And indeed, when Allah forbids the eating of something, He forbids its price.
لعن الله اليهود حرّمت عليهم الشّحوم فجملوها ثمّ باعوها و أكلوا أثمانها و إنّ الله إذا حرّم أكل شيء حرّم ثمنهThey rendered them
جملوهاFor wrongdoing on the part of the Jews, We made unlawful for them [certain] good foods which had been lawful to them
فبظلم من الّذين هادوا حرّمنا عليهم طيّبات أحلّت لهمLet there be the curse of Allah upon the Jews that fat was declared forbidden for them, but they melted it
لعن الله اليهود حرّمت عليهم الشّحوم فجملوهاthey sold them and they enjoyed the price they received for them. When Allah declared eating of thing forbidden for the people, He declares it price also forbidden for them.
ثمّ باعوها و أكلوا أثمانها و إنّ الله إذا حرّم أكل شيء حرّم ثمنه
