The ruling on a woman plucking some of the hair from her face, legs, and arms.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh: ...
and I will command them so they will slit the ears of cattle, and I will command them so they will change the creation of Allah
[An-Nisa 4:119]
, so whoever changes the creation of Allah without permission from Allah; he is a sinner against the Most Merciful, obedient to Satan, and carrying out his pledge when he said:
and I will command them so they will change the creation of Allah
[An-Nisa 4:119]
.
As for the Sunnah, it is His saying - peace and blessings be upon him - summarizing some of the changes first, then specifying the reason for cursing these changers, from which the ruling or answer to the previous question is derived. The explanation of this is His saying - peace and blessings be upon him - :
Allah has cursed the women who pluck their eyebrows, and those who have their eyebrows plucked for them, and the women who tattoo, and those who have tattoos done for them, and the women who file their teeth to change the creation of Allah for the sake of beauty.
, in another hadith:
May Allah curse those who attach hair and those who have it attached
. So the Messenger - peace and blessings be upon him and his family - cursed the women who change the creation of Allah by a type of change, and he specified, or among what he specified, his saying:
Allah has cursed the women who pluck their eyebrows
. It is established linguistically that *namas* is plucking; *namas* is plucking linguistically. And this *namas* is not specific to the eyebrows as some claim, nor to the face as some claim, but rather *namas* equals plucking in word and meaning. If the Bedouin says: "So-and-so plucked his armpit," it is correct; "So-and-so plucked his eyebrow," it is correct; "So-and-so plucked the hair of his leg," it is correct. Likewise *namas*. He - peace be upon him - said:
Allah has cursed the women who pluck their eyebrows
. What do they pluck? He did not say "What do they pluck?" He made the statement general. And among the principles - also - of usul al-fiqh (the principles of jurisprudence) is that it is obligatory to carry the absolute text on its absoluteness, until a restriction comes to restrict it. Therefore, it was from the misguidance of the Jews that when Musa conveyed to them the ruling of their Lord by saying:
Indeed, Allah commands you to slaughter a cow
[Al-Baqarah 2:67]
; they sat down and continued to be pedantic with their Prophet, saying: "What is its color?" O people, he told you:
Indeed, Allah commands you to slaughter a cow
[Al-Baqarah 2:67]
, whatever it was, an absolute cow. So they were pedantic with the religion, and you know what befell them from the Lord of the Worlds. So here
Allah has cursed the women who pluck their eyebrows
did not specify, so we should carry the text on its absoluteness and comprehensiveness, and not say "plucking the eyebrow only," or "plucking the cheek only," but whatever it is.
This confirms for you the other things; where he connected to his saying:
Allah has cursed the pluckers, and those who are plucked, the tattooers, and those who are tattooed
. And tattooing is piercing the skin with a substance resembling green ink. Why - also - did the Messenger - peace be upon him - curse them? And likewise the *falajat* (those who file their teeth). The *falajat* is a woman who comes to her teeth, and Allah - Mighty and Majestic - has arranged them one to another like well-arranged pearls. So she is not pleased with the creation of Allah, and she was - it was an old fashion - she would take the file and file between the tooth and the tooth until it becomes flattened, meaning there is a gap, so one of her teeth becomes like the fang of a dog. She is pleased with her deviation from the fitrah (the innate natural disposition) with which Allah created people. So the Messenger - peace and blessings be upon him - cursed them, then he explained the reason, he explained the 'illah (the operative cause of a ruling), and this 'illah is very important; because first it meets the verse; where the accursed Satan said:
and I will command them so they will change the creation of Allah
[An-Nisa 4:119]
. He - peace be upon him - said at the end of the hadith:
Those who change the creation of Allah for the sake of beauty.
. If a questioner asks: Why - O Messenger of Allah - were these types of women cursed, the pluckers and those who are plucked, the tattooers and those who are tattooed, and the *falajat*? The answer came: Because they changed the creation of Allah. So now, a woman grows hair on her legs; who planted this hair on her legs? Is it Satan, so she disobeys him? Or is it Allah the Most Merciful, so she must obey Him? So when she plucks her hair, or shaves her hair; all of that is included in His saying - peace be upon him - :
those who change the creation of Allah for the sake of beauty
. He made this phrase the 'illah (the operative cause of a ruling) for the curse, and all of that is included in the saying of Satan:
and I will command them so they will change the creation of Allah
[An-Nisa 4:119]
. From here it becomes clear to you that the matter is very serious, and that the woman who plucks or shaves her hair in a place on her body, for which our Lord has not given her permission; she is a sinner against the Most Merciful, and obedient to Satan.
