What do you say about the issue of leaning while eating?

The questioner : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. And may the prayers and peace be upon the master of the prophets and messengers, our master and our prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his companions. As for what follows:
His EminenceThe Shaykh : What do you say about the issue of leaning while eating? I ask for clarification, and may Allah reward you with good?
The Shaykh : Leaning? There is a hadith in "Sahih al-Bukhari" from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in which he said:, and the leaning in this hadith was interpreted in two ways:
The first, which is the most famous among the commentators and scholars of the language of hadith, such as Ibn al-Athir and others, is sitting on one's knees (turbuq); that the eater sits on his knees. This is the first opinion.
The second opinion is that leaning is on the right or left hand, as came in a hadith in "the two Sahihs" from his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): "Sahih al-Bukhari 6919, and he was leaning, so he sat up, then he said: , and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) kept repeating it until we wished he would stop, due to the great concern the Messenger (peace be upon him) had for false testimony and the encroachment on rights that follows it. He was leaning, so he sat up, which is an indication of his concern for the magnitude of this major sin among the major sins. The meaning I am at peace with and which my heart finds open is this second meaning; because eating while leaning is the habit of the arrogant and haughty, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was, as you know, the master of the humble. Therefore, he used to say: . So he (peace and blessings be upon him) ate according to the rule he established for his Ummah, such as his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): . The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) never sat except in the sitting of the humble, whereas leaning while eating is the sitting of the arrogant. Whether the stronger opinion is this interpretation of leaning or that, we should note that his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): does not mean that eating in this posture is forbidden, but rather it means that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) refrained from eating in this manner; whether sitting on his knees or leaning on his right or left hand. The best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). He used to eat on the ground, and he did not sit on his knees, and he did not lean, but rather he would sit with one leg extended and the other bent (qu'i). This is what we know of his way (peace and blessings be upon him) in his eating, in his action and in his words.
Yes.

The biggest of the great sins are: To join others in worship with Allah, to be undutiful to one's parents, and to give a false witness.
