Does the Muslim begin the greeting by saying

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: Does the Muslim begin by saying, "Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings"? Is that correct?

The Shaykh : How?

The questioner: I say no. Do you not see that the Muslim begins by saying, "Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings"?

The Shaykh: How can that be? What about adding "and His forgiveness"?

The questioner: Yes, that is what I find difficult. Subhan Allah, in your conversation with Abu Malik, it seems he said "and His forgiveness" on that day.

The Shaykh : It is this.

The questioner : May Allah reward you.

The Shaykh: And from this, it is not permissible to begin with this addition. It is only in the response that the addition is in its proper place. If the one who initiates says "and His blessings," then the addition remains in its place. But in initiating, one does not add "and His forgiveness."
