Some Virtues in Few Words, and as we mentioned, it is a hadith authentic by other evidence

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh: Some Virtues in Few Words, and as we mentioned, it is a hadith authentic by other evidence. The meaning of this in the science of hadith terminology is that the chain of narration in this book is weak, and its defect is that it is narrated by Shahr ibn Hawshab, who is the narrator of this hadith from Asma bint Yazid. This is because Shahr is not accused of lying, but he is criticized regarding his memory. So when there is corroborating evidence for it, it becomes strong. Therefore, this hadith is authentic due to its corroborating narrations. Asma bint Yazid is one of the noble female Companions who narrates this hadith to us. She said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Shall I inform you of the best of you?
. They said: Yes. He said:
those who, when they are seen, Allah the Mighty, the Majestic, is remembered
Sunan Ibn Majah 4119Hasan (Darussalam)
What is the meaning of this statement:
those who, when they are seen, Allah the Mighty, the Majestic, is remembered
Sunan Ibn Majah 4119Hasan (Darussalam)
This refers to the principle of the apparent and the hidden, meaning that the Muslim who is truly holding fast to his Islam, his Islam manifests on his appearance. I have mentioned on more than one occasion some authentic hadiths that indicate the connection between the apparent and the hidden. The most famous and strongest of these hadiths is his statement (peace and blessings be upon him) in the complete version of the famous hadith whose beginning is:
What is lawful is clear and what is unlawful is clear
Sunan Abi Dawud 3329Sahih (Al-Albani)
to its end. Then he said (peace and blessings be upon him):
In the body there is a piece of flesh, and the whole body is sound if it is sound, but the whole body is corrupt if it is corrupt. It is the heart.
Mishkat al-Masabih 2762
So this hadith links the soundness of the body to the soundness of the heart. This is very close; the soundness of the apparent and the hidden, the spiritual aspect, is linked to the soundness of the physical body, just as the heart, if it is healthy from a medical perspective, is generally accompanied by a healthy body. Most of the matter is completeness from a spiritual and moral perspective. So if the heart is filled with faith and full of certainty in what Islam brought, the effect of that appears on the limbs of this person. At that time, if this person is seen, Allah is remembered because the effects of piety and righteousness manifest on him, just as the Messenger (may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him) said in the authentic hadith:
May Allah make radiant a man who heard my statement, understood it, and then conveyed it as he heard it, for perhaps the one who conveys it is more understanding than the one who hears it
. The point of this hadith is his statement:
May Allah make radiant a man
This is a supplication by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for radiance for the one who heard the statement of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and then conveyed it to the Muslims so that they may understand it. And the Messenger (peace be upon him) taught the matter by pointing to it with his statement:
for many a one to whom it is brought retains it better than the one who heard it
Mishkat al-Masabih 230, 231
The scholars of hadith, its commentators, say that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) responded to the supplication of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). And therefore, this radiance is seen on the faces of those who are concerned with hadith. Similarly, every man who fills his heart with sincere faith, its effect appears on his body. So if he is seen, Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is remembered because of his appearance. Similar to this is what is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he was asked about the best of people in reciting the Qur'an: Who is the best of people in reciting the Qur'an? He said (peace be upon him):
The one when he recites, it is seen that he fears Allah
This is a reality that every sincere believer feels regarding the recitation of a person who takes recitation as a profession and a quick trade. This is as if he is making a show of the Qur'an, as if he is singing with it, whereas a person who recites the Book of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) makes the listeners feel that he is reciting while fearing Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He). So the best of people is the one when he is seen, Allah is remembered because of his appearance. Either he is a righteous man who worships, and when people see him, they are alerted to his righteousness and wish, as long as there is still faith in their hearts, to be like him. Or he is one who enjoins good and forbids evil, and when they see him, they are affected by him and understand the religion through him, so they benefit from him. So this one who is seen and causes Allah to be remembered is the best of people.
