(peace and blessings be upon him) - , and I had companions who used to play with me

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh: - (peace and blessings be upon him) - , and I had companions who used to play with me, so when the Messenger of Allah - (peace and blessings be upon him) - would enter, they would hide from him, and he would send them to me, and they would play with me.
The Lady Aisha said, "I used to play with dolls." The intended meaning here by "dolls" is children's toys, which are called dolls and are made in the shape of girls, so they were called "dolls" figuratively. Thus, the Lady Aisha said that she used to play with dolls in the presence of the Prophet - (peace and blessings be upon him) - , meaning in the house of the Prophet, and she was his wife, because she had married him - (may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him) - when she was nine years old. Therefore, she was young in age, so it was fitting for her to play with her dolls while being the wife of the Master of Mankind - (may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him) - . The Messenger - (may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him) - , who appreciates people's situations in their proper measure and knows the rights of young women and men, giving every right its due, tolerated this play from her while she was his wife because she was young in age. The Lady Aisha - (may Allah be pleased with her) - herself clarified this in another incident she narrates herself, saying:
The Abyssinians came to play in the mosque of the Messenger - (peace and blessings be upon him) - , so the Messenger of Allah - (peace and blessings be upon him) - stood at the door, and she stood behind him, and she had placed her chin on the shoulder of the Prophet - (peace and blessings be upon him) - جاءت الحبشة تلعب في مسجد الرسول - صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم - فوقف رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - على الباب ووقفت هي خلفه وقد وضعت ذقنها على منكب النبي - صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم -
Do not let this expression be confusing to any of you when I say "she placed her chin," and she is a woman. In the general custom or the custom of the common people, a woman does not have a chin; rather, the chin is a characteristic of men. In reality, this is a colloquial expression naming the beard as the chin. The chin is this bone on which the beard usually grows in men. So every person, whether male or female, has a chin, but not every person has a beard; rather, this is a specific characteristic of men, except in rare and unusual cases. Allah - (Blessed and Exalted is He) - wants to prove to the atheists and materialists that He is the Doer of what He wills, so He creates a man without a beard and a woman with a beard to draw the attention of these naturalists that Allah - (Mighty and Majestic) - creates what He wills, as He - (Mighty and Majestic) - said:
And your Lord creates what He wills and chooses; not for them was the choice. Exalted is Allah and high above what they associate with Him.
[Al-Qasas 28:68]
.
The point is that the Lady Aisha said: "I placed my chin on the shoulder of the Prophet - (peace and blessings be upon him) - , and I was veiled by him, and I was watching the Abyssinians, and they were playing in the mosque, and the Messenger of Allah - (peace and blessings be upon him) - was patient with her and said to her playfully:
Have you had enough? أشبعت ؟
. She said: "No." She said: "Until I was the one who got bored."
What is the Messenger? He said, "Come on, what need have you prolonged until she got bored here?" The Lady Aisha - (may Allah be pleased with her) - said:
So consider the status of the young, lively girl of tender age. فاقدروا قدر الجارية العربة الحديثة السن
She is giving a lesson to men that if a man marries a young girl, he must treat her in a manner befitting her age and not treat her as if she has had her fill of the world and her fill of men, or something like that. This story, which we are commenting on, also tells us that the Prophet - (peace and blessings be upon him) - was pleased with and approved of the Lady Aisha - (may Allah be pleased with her) - while she was playing with her dolls, meaning children's toys. More than that, she used to say: "And I had companions who used to play with me," young neighbors of her age who would come to her and play with her. "So when the Messenger of Allah - (peace and blessings be upon him) - would enter, they would hide from him." What does "hide" mean? It means they would turn their faces away and hide from him - (peace be upon him) - out of shyness from him. So they would hide from him, either behind a door or a curtain or something similar that a young girl would find strange. So what did the Messenger - (may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him) - do? She said: "He would send them to me," meaning the Messenger would go after them and perhaps play with them too by placing his hand on the head of one of them and taking her with all gentleness to her companion, the Lady Aisha - (may Allah be pleased with her) - , to play with her with her toys. She said: "He would send them to me and they would play with me." This is the hadith.
