The cause of the misguidance of the Jahmiyyah, the Mu'tazilah, and their followers in denying place to Allah.

The Shaykh : This is what I see as the decisive word in this matter, in which many of the Mu'tazilah, the Jahmiyyah, and their followers in the present age have gone astray. The reason they fall into this misguidance is, first, their ignorance of the Book, the Sunnah, and the creed of the righteous Salaf, and second, their lack of intellect and understanding. Otherwise, the matter is as clear as the sun at midday. If Allah was, and there was nothing with Him, then He was and continues to be, with nothing with Him in His essence. As for what is outside His essence, it is this universe to which He said, "Be," and it was. Therefore, He is outside the universe, and it is necessary that He be so, for it is inconceivable that He be within the universe, for that would lead to pantheism and union, which I think these people deny, but they do not comprehend it. That is, they deny something they do not comprehend, for if they had comprehended it, they would have purified Him.
