My son is in Canada, and the time between us and them is different. It is five minutes to six for us, and five minutes to nine for them.

The questioner : My son is in Canada. He called us two days ago. I said to him, "What time is it?" He said to me, "It is five minutes to nine."

The Shaykh : When was the call, in the morning or in the evening?

The questioner : It was with us in the evening, at five minutes to six.

The Shaykh: Good.

The questioner : I asked him, "What time is it?" He said, "Five minutes to nine." So which night do you estimate it to be for us, for us or for them, this is in relation to...?

The Shaykh : In relation to whom?

The questioner : They are in Canada.

The Shaykh : Everyone has their own night! [Everyone laughs!]

The questioner : The night is
27 27
.

The Shaykh : Everyone has their own night according to the confirmation of Ramadan in their location.

The questioner : He said that they are fasting, and it is now nine o'clock, meaning they have remained for eleven hours until they break their fast. How much time do you have left? I said to him, "We have an hour and a half left to break our fast, or an hour..."

The Shaykh : But.

The questioner : Does the Night of Decree apply to us and to them?

The Shaykh : Every moment is in the Night of Decree.

The questioner : Every moment?

The Shaykh : Yes, in this world, every moment is in it. Every moment has an hour of response. If it is the last third of the night, every hour has an hour of response on Friday.

The questioner : Regarding the Night of Decree that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) mentioned in the Qur'an.

Another questioner : He did not tell you.

The Shaykh : We are answering you.

Another questioner: Regarding ... .

The Shaykh : Be patient.
What is the difference between the Night of Decree and the hour of response in it? This is what the lady Aisha asked her Prophet (peace be upon him): "If I see the Night of Decree, what should I say?" If she saw the Night of Decree, when would she see it? From the beginning of the night to the end of it? No, it is a glimpse like a fleeting lightning bolt, one feels it in it; "O Allah, You are the Pardoner, You love pardon, so pardon me." So this hour exists, circling the earth in every night, like the hour of response. Is there no hour of response on Friday?

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : Well, Friday here is different from Friday elsewhere—for example, twenty days before, twenty days before, a hundred days before, and so on. So every hour has a Friday hour, every day has a Friday. This is a self-evident, known matter. So do not be confused. What do we have here now on Friday? We have now the time between Maghrib and Isha. On the opposite side of the earth, in America, for example, it might be for them between Fajr and the rising of the sun, do you see? So the matter is rotating, the hour is rotating with the rotation of the earth, and Allah is capable of all things.
