Many of the Christians or Jews say: "There is no god but Allah"; do they come out of the Fire?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Many of the Christians or Jews say: "There is no god but Allah"; do they come out of the Fire?

The Shaykh : The answer to this has been given previously when we commented on His saying:
I have been commanded to fight the people
Sunan an-Nasa'i 3983Sahih (Darussalam)
,
They say with their tongues what is not within their hearts.
[Al-Fath 48:11]
, and this has no value. Many— you must pay attention to the point I will clarify today—many of the Christians display their Islam for a certain purpose, either to escape the Christian problem, or to marry a Muslim woman. In truth, we must provide a general explanation that reaches these people who have adopted Islam, if that is the correct term. We must draw their attention to the fact that if they apostatize afterwards to their religion, the one they believed in and then disbelieved in, the ruling is to kill them. This is because the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever changes his religion, execute him.
Sunan Ibn Majah 2535Sahih (Darussalam)
. Since this ruling is not prevalent among Muslims today, and its application has become a forgotten matter, at the very least we must know the ruling. Because if we know the ruling, perhaps we will be able to apply it one day when power and authority are in our hands. But if we are ignorant of the legal ruling, we cannot apply it even if power and authority are in our hands. Therefore, all people, and especially those who adopt Islam or become Muslim for a benefit, must be informed: be aware that if you become Muslim, you have no return. As it is said in our Syrian dialect: "I finished my prayer until it happened to me, so when it happened to me, I stopped my prayer." This is displaying Islam until one reaches their goal, then returning to their religion.
Many of these people display this, so people must be made to understand this legal ruling. Especially since some contemporary writers today reject this authentic hadith found in al-Bukhari:
Whoever changes his religion, execute him.
Sunan Ibn Majah 2535Sahih (Darussalam)
, and they dismiss it with the verse:
There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong.
[Al-Baqarah 2:256]
. This is due to their ignorance, because the absence of compulsion in religion is one thing, and a disbeliever displaying his Islam and then apostatizing afterwards is another thing. This is a political legal ruling. As for
There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion
[Al-Baqarah 2:256]
, it is a legal principle in itself; it never compels anyone to leave their religion. So there is no contradiction between the verse and the hadith, and praise be to Allah.
Yes.
