Rebuking the Jews and the Christians for each group’s denial of the other

Paragraph (2): The Qur’an says: Do the Jews and the Christians read the heavenly books? (2/113)?
Answer: This refers to the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Al-Baqarah 2:113] . Allah the Exalted rebuked both groups in this verse, the Jews and the Christians , for their denial of what the other possesses as proof of its truth, out of stubbornness, transgression, and aggression. So He rebuked the Jews for their disbelief in the message of 'Isa (peace be upon him) and the legislation he brought, while they recite the Book, meaning the Torah, in which Allah took their covenant to believe in him and in the legislation of Allah that he brought. And He rebuked the Christians for their disbelief in Musa (peace be upon him), while they recite the Book, meaning the Gospel, which confirms what came before it of the Torah that Musa brought, except for a little of what Allah commanded him to make lawful for them. And this does not mean
confirming the distortion that has occurred in the Torah and the Gospel, nor what each of the Jews and the Christians concealed from the Book of their Prophet, as evidenced by His mentioning in other verses of the Qur’an what each of them did to the Book of their Prophet, which they cite from its ambiguous parts to support their claims, deceiving and misleading the people. Rather, it is necessary to combine all the faults taken from them, some with others, from distorting some texts, concealing some, believing in part of the Book and disbelieving in another part of it. For the origin of both books is from Allah, just as the Qur’an was revealed from Allah, and each of them confirms the other, and every prophet announces the one before him and confirms the one after him. So it is obligatory to believe in them all and in all that they brought from Allah the Exalted. Whoever believes in some of that and disbelieves in some is a disbeliever in all of it. And here is what supports the foregoing from the verses of the Qur’an. Allah the Exalted said:[An-Nisa 4:150-152] , and these verses are general, including the Jews and the Christians and others. Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Ma'idah 5:15-16]
the verses, to the saying of Allah the Exalted: , and these verses are general regarding the Jews and the Christians, and Allah the Exalted said: [At-Tawbah 9:29] the verses, to the saying of Allah the Exalted: [At-Tawbah 9:34] , and these verses are general regarding the Jews and the Christians as well. And Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Baqarah 2:75] , and these verses, and much of what comes after and before them, were revealed to explain the disgrace of the Jews, as was revealed regarding them the saying of Allah the Exalted: [Al-An'am 6:91] , and there are parallels for them in
the Christians, such as their concealing the good news of the message of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). And Allah the Exalted said in His rebuke of the Christians:[Al-Ma'idah 5:17] the verses, to the saying of Allah the Exalted: [Al-Ma'idah 5:78] , and Allah the Exalted said regarding the Jews and the Christians: [Al-Bayyinah 98:4] , the two verses to the saying of His Exaltedness: [Al-Baqarah 2:6] , After this, is it correct to say that the Qur’an praised the Jews or the Christians who did not believe in it after its revelation, or that it praised what the Jews played with in the Torah, or what was distorted in the Gospel, or what was added to it, such as the sonship of 'Isa to Allah or his divinity with Allah, or that the Jews crucified him or killed him, or the concealment and hiding of the description of Muhammad and his message, if what is mentioned is not distortion, concealment, addition, and subtraction? So what is called the action of each of the two groups toward the Book of their Prophet?
Answer: This refers to the saying of Allah the Exalted:
The Jews say "The Christians have nothing [true] to stand on," and the Christians say, "The Jews have nothing to stand on," although they [both] recite the Scripture. Thus the polytheists speak the same as their words. But Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.

(150) Indeed, those who disbelieve in Allah and His messengers and wish to discriminate between Allah and His messengers and say, "We believe in some and disbelieve in others," and wish to adopt a way in between - (151) Those are the disbelievers, truly. And We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment. (152) But they who believe in Allah and His messengers and do not discriminate between any of them - to those He is going to give their rewards. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.

There has come to you from Allah a light and a clear Book. They have certainly disbelieved who say that Allah is Christ, the son of Mary
