Is there any harm to a person who trains himself in what Allah (Mighty and Majestic) wants him to call his other brothers to, even if he has a great shortcoming?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : ... He must act upon what he has been granted, and this is not easy. He must start with himself. But is there any harm to him in striving against his own shortcomings in what Allah wants from us, in calling his other brothers, even if he still has shortcomings?

The Shaykh : There is no harm in this. I said, I said in a recorded talk: he starts with himself, then his wife, then his children, then those who have authority over him, and so on.

The questioner : Meaning, he does not wait until he reaches the level of perfection until...

The Shaykh : There is no level of perfection. He only acts in what he is able to. But now, we cannot. We must know; meaning, when a person truly acts with one plan, he succeeds. But if he acts with an imaginary plan, he does not succeed. We must believe. I tell you frankly now: Can we fight the Jews?

Another questioner : We cannot.

Another questioner : Without preparation...

The Shaykh : We are saying now: Can we? We cannot.
Now, if a man stands and preaches from the pulpit, urging the people and giving a fiery sermon that they should fight the Jews and throw them into the sea, I say: he is deceiving the people, he is deceiving them; because he is the first one to know that he cannot do anything! But can we not do something with ourselves, train them, and prepare them for such a day? Now, we leave this and we go on about that which we cannot do!

Another questioner : That will not do!

The Shaykh : It is a fallacy, this is a fallacy.
There is no god but Allah.
Please proceed.
