Explanation of the shirk (associating partners with Allah) into which the Sufis have fallen.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Today, millions of Sufis believe that some of the shaykhs (scholars) have knowledge of the unseen. We have in Syria, the poor students used to say: "I attended the shaykh, and he revealed what was in my heart!" By Allah, He said: "He is All-Knowing of what is in the breasts," All-Knowing of what is in the breasts, the Lord of the worlds. They associated the shaykh with the Lord of the worlds in that he knows what is in his heart. If he wanted, he would ask him a question, and the shaykh would answer him without him asking; is this a coincidence? But it does not mean that the shaykh revealed what was in his heart. This is shirk (associating partners with Allah) with Allah (Mighty and Majestic). You have the poem of al-Busiri, which the senior shaykhs in this country and others still place a cup of water in the middle, and they make a circle of dhikr (remembrance of Allah), and they recite in it the poem of al-Busiri, and in it is explicit disbelief, which he says:
"For from Your generosity is the world and its harm, and from Your knowledge is the knowledge of the Tablet and the Pen."
This is an address to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), "For from Your generosity is the world and its harm, and from Your knowledge," whoever understands the Arabic language understands "from"; that is: a partitive, they call it, meaning some of your knowledge, O Messenger of Allah, is the knowledge of the Tablet and the Pen. This is explicit disbelief, and on top of that, it is a catastrophe! "A straw on a camel's load," as they say, and an addition to the drum's melody. They seek blessing (tabarruk) with this disbelief! They place a cup of water so that the blessings of this session are dissolved in it! What is the session? It is shirk (associating partners with Allah) with Allah (Mighty and Majestic). What is the cause of this, my brother? It is not that the Muslims are not Muslims; no, they are Muslims; because if one says "La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammadur Rasul Allah," he becomes a Muslim. But many of these Muslims are wronged by their callers (da'wah workers) and wronged by their scholars; because they do not explain to them the meaning of this good word, which is the key to entering Paradise, as (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Narrated 'Urban bin Malik: who attended the Badr battle and was from the Ansar, that he came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "O Allah's Apostle! I have lost my eyesight and I lead my people in the prayer (as an Imam). When it rains, the valley which is between me and my people, flows with water, and then I cannot go to their mosque to lead them in the prayer. O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! I wish that you could come and pray in my house so that I may take it as a praying place. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Allah willing, I will do that." The next morning, soon after the sun had risen, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came with Abu Bakr. The Prophet (ﷺ) asked for the permission to enter and I admitted him. The Prophet (ﷺ) had not sat till he had entered the house and said to me, "Where do you like me to pray in your house?" I pointed at a place in my house whereupon he stood and said, "Allahu Akbar." We lined behind him and he prayed two rak`at and finished it with Taslim. We then requested him to stay for a special meal of Khazira which we had prepared. A large number of men from the adjoining area gathered in the house. One of them said, "Where is Malik bin Ad-Dukhshun?" Another man said, "He is a hypocrite and does not love Allah and His Apostle." The Prophet said, "Do not say so. Do you not think that he has said: "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah," seeking Allah's pleasure? The man said, "Allah and His Apostle know better, but we have always seen him mixing with hypocrites and giving them advice." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Allah has forbidden the (Hell) Fire for those who testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, seeking Allah's pleasure. " مَن قال لا إله إلا الله نَفَعَتْه يومًا من دهره
Sahih al-Bukhari 5401
, meaning: on the Day of Resurrection, if one who committed ninety-nine of the major sins wants to enter Paradise and purify himself and be punished as Allah wills, then the testimony "La ilaha illa Allah" saves him. But what is this testimony? First, it must be understood in its meaning, and second, it must not be negated by its meaning; yes, it must be understood with correct understanding, and applied with correct application as well.
All these meanings, the Muslim community—not just the Tabligh group—the Muslim community needs to be taught them. After that, every individual calls to them according to what has reached him of knowledge, and
Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity لَا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا
[Al-Baqarah 2:286]
. But we forget our own state and sit working on others, and by Allah, this is not done by anyone but a heedless person, meaning heedless in the lowest degrees of heedlessness. Why? Start with yourself. The Shari'ah taught us this, Qur'an and Sunnah,
O you who have believed, upon you is [responsibility for] yourselves. Those who have gone astray will not harm you when you have been guided يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْفُسَكُمْ لَا يَضُرُّكُمْ مَنْ ضَلَّ إِذَا اهْتَدَيْتُمْ
[Al-Ma'idah 5:105]
learn and teach. If they respond, then with it; if they do not respond;
Those who have gone astray will not harm you when you have been guided لَا يَضُرُّكُمْ مَنْ ضَلَّ إِذَا اهْتَدَيْتُمْ
[Al-Ma'idah 5:105]
. And he who lacks a thing cannot give it. And this is a very long discussion, and perhaps it is now the time of 'Asr (afternoon prayer). Shall we go, Abu 'Adnan?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : The time has come, I think it is not so?

The questioner : ... four and a third now with ... .

Another questioner : We will pray 'Asr, we will pray here.

The Shaykh : No, we will pray in the mosque.

The questioner : The mosque is better.

The Shaykh : Ah, but look, the group of women come to pray with us in the mosque, or do we go back to take them?

The questioner : ... they will pray ... there ... .

The Shaykh : Ah, in the name of Allah.

The questioner : Give them news that they go out to pray with us ... .
