The Shaykh’s explanation of the shirk (associating partners with Allah) into which the Sufis have fallen
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Today, millions of Sufis believe that some shaykhs have knowledge of the unseen. In our region in Syria, the poor students used to say, "The presence of the Shaykh revealed what is in my heart." By Allah, He is the All-Knower of what is in the breasts, the Lord of the worlds. They associated the Shaykh with the Lord of the worlds by claiming he knows what is in his heart. If someone wanted to ask a question and the Shaykh answered without being asked, that is a coincidence, but it does not mean the Shaykh revealed what was in his heart. This is shirk (associating partners with Allah) with Allah (Mighty and Majestic). You have the poem by al-Busiri, which the senior shaykhs in this country and elsewhere still recite in their dhikr circles, placing a cup of water in the center. It contains explicit disbelief. It says: "For from Your generosity are the world and its sister, and from Your knowledge is the knowledge of the Tablet and the Pen." This is an address to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). "From Your generosity are the world and its sister, and from Your knowledge..." Anyone who understands the Arabic language will understand from this partitive construction that it means: "Some of your knowledge, O Messenger of Allah, is the knowledge of the Tablet and the Pen." This is explicit disbelief. On top of that, it is a straw on a camel's back, as they say, and an addition to the drum. They seek blessing from this disbelief. They place the cup of water so that the blessings of this session settle in it. What is this session? It is shirk (associating partners with Allah) with Allah (Mighty and Majestic). What is the cause of this, my brother? It is not that Muslims are not Muslims, because they are Muslims. We say a person is a disbeliever if he says, "There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah," he becomes a Muslim. But many of these Muslims are wronged by their callers and wronged by their scholars because they do not explain to them the meaning of this good word, which is the key to entering Paradise, as he (peace and blessings be upon him) said. On the Day of Resurrection, if a person has committed ninety-nine major sins and wants to enter Paradise, he will be purified and punished as Allah wills, and then the testimony of "There is no god but Allah" will save him. But what kind of testimony is this? It must be understood in its meaning first, and not negated by its meaning second. Yes, it must be understood with correct understanding and applied with correct application. All these meanings are needed by the Muslim community, not just the Tabligh group. The Muslim community needs to be taught these, and then each individual calls to them according to his level of knowledge. And Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity. But we forget our own state and sit working on others. By Allah, only a heedless person does this, meaning a person at the lowest level of heedlessness. Why? Start with yourself. The Shari'ah taught us this, the Qur'an and the Sunnah. Learn and teach. If they respond, good; if they do not respond, the one who lacks something cannot give it. This is a very long discussion, and it is probably time for the 'Asr prayer. Let's go, Abu 'Adnan?[Al-'Ankabut 29:10] He is the All-Knower of what is in the breasts, the Lord of the worlds. This is explicit disbelief, and on top of that, it is a catastrophe"a straw on a camel's load"as they say, and an addition to the drum for them, seeking blessing through this disbelief. They place a drink of water so that the blessings of this gathering dissolve in it. What is this gathering? It is associating partners with Allah (Mighty and Majestic). What is the cause of this, my brother? It is not that the Muslims are not Muslims, because they are Muslims; if one says "La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammad rasul Allah," he is a Muslim. But many of these Muslims are wronged by their callers and wronged by their scholars, because they do not explain to them the meaning of this good word, which is the key to entering Paradise, as he (peace and blessings be upon him)Sahih al-Bukhari 5401 on the Day of Resurrection, if a person who has committed ninety-nine major sins wants to enter Paradise, he will be purified and punished as Allah wills, and then the testimony"La ilaha illa Allah"But what kind of testimony is this? The Shari'ah taught us this way: the Qur'an and the Sunnah.[Al-Ma'idah 5:105] Learn and teach. If they respond, that is good. If they do not respond,[Al-Ma'idah 5:105] One who does not possess a thing cannot give it. This is a very long discussion, and it is not possible [to finish it now]. It is time for the 'Asr prayer. Shall we go, Abu 'Adnan?

The Shaykh : The time has come, I think it is not like that.
The questioner : ... four and a third now with ... .
Another questioner: We pray 'Asr, we pray here.
The Shaykh : No, we will pray in the mosque.
The questioner : The mosque is better.
The Shaykh : Ah, but look, the group of women come to pray with us in the mosque, or do we go back and take them?
The questioner : ... they will pray ... there ... .
The Shaykh : In the name of Allah.
The questioner : Give them news that they will go out and pray with us ... .
Is not Allah most knowing of what is within the breasts of all creatures?
أوليس الله بأعلم بما في صدور العالمينNarrated 'Urban bin Malik: who attended the Badr battle and was from the Ansar, that he came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "O Allah's Apostle! I have lost my eyesight and I lead my people in the prayer (as an Imam). When it rains, the valley which is between me and my people, flows with water, and then I cannot go to their mosque to lead them in the prayer. O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! I wish that you could come and pray in my house so that I may take it as a praying place. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Allah willing, I will do that." The next morning, soon after the sun had risen, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came with Abu Bakr. The Prophet (ﷺ) asked for the permission to enter and I admitted him. The Prophet (ﷺ) had not sat till he had entered the house and said to me, "Where do you like me to pray in your house?" I pointed at a place in my house whereupon he stood and said, "Allahu Akbar." We lined behind him and he prayed two rak`at and finished it with Taslim. We then requested him to stay for a special meal of Khazira which we had prepared. A large number of men from the adjoining area gathered in the house. One of them said, "Where is Malik bin Ad-Dukhshun?" Another man said, "He is a hypocrite and does not love Allah and His Apostle." The Prophet said, "Do not say so. Do you not think that he has said: "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah," seeking Allah's pleasure? The man said, "Allah and His Apostle know better, but we have always seen him mixing with hypocrites and giving them advice." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Allah has forbidden the (Hell) Fire for those who testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, seeking Allah's pleasure. "
