The Shaykh Al-Albani’s response to statements found in one of the books of contemporary authors, in which he accuses the Salafis of saying

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Perhaps those who attended the previous lesson remember well the statement of the writer mentioned, in his questioning and correction, when he said: “But have you been able to instill this correct concept in the minds of those who claim to follow your path?” I spoke about this specific sentence with sufficient detail, which I believe is enough, in the previous lesson, and I am speaking about the rest. He said: “Reality confirms that few of them have held themselves to this methodology, while the majority are the opposite of that; they see in the schools of jurisprudence nothing but an enemy that must be eliminated. And we have seen and heard from their elders—between two quotation marks—who openly express this opinion, and from their middling figures who say: ‘It is necessary first to burn all the books of the schools of jurisprudence.’”
The writer attributes this statement to some of those who claim to follow the Salafi call, and he divides them into two groups: the elders and the younger ones. Perhaps this detail indicates the man’s attempt to be fair to those he is criticizing. What concerns me in commenting on these lines is two matters, one of which is more important than the other. Let us begin with the more important one, then the one below it. The first is: What is the position of the Salafi call regarding the schools of jurisprudence and their imams? This is the first and most important matter, as I mentioned.
