The Shaykh : He said: And from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) - he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 945a. It was asked: "What are the two qirats?" He said: , and in a hadith that will follow: ; the qirat is like Uhud; Mount Uhud. He said regarding this hadith: It was narrated by al-Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud, al-Tirmidhi, al-Nasa'i, and Ibn Majah. And in a narration by Muslim and others: ; the smaller of the two great mountains. He said: , and in a narration by al-Bukhari: Sahih al-Bukhari 47.
In this hadith is the detail we mentioned earlier that accompanying the funeral is in two parts; the first part has the reward of a qirat, and the second part has the reward of another qirat; so whoever accompanies a funeral from the time it leaves until it is prayed over until it is buried, he returns with the reward of two qirats, and every qirat is like Mount Uhud, or the other narration:. And the qirat in language varies according to some countries; in most countries the qirat is one part of twenty, and here in the Levant - and I do not know if the matter is still so, and this is what I think - it is one part of twenty-four, so the qirat is one part of twenty or of twenty-four. This one who accompanies the funeral from its house to its grave has the reward of two qirats; every qirat is like Mount Uhud. But does this accompanying or this reward get obtained by every companion; especially if he accompanies it from his house to the mosque and then does not enter the mosque, or from his house to the prayer place where the funeral is prayed over or the funeral is prayed in; there is no doubt that the one who obtains the reward of two qirats or at least the single qirat, it is required in him what you heard in some narrations of the hadith: with faith and seeking reward. So this excludes everyone who accompanies the funeral for another reason other than seeking reward and drawing near to Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He). And this is what is observed today that accompanying the funeral has become a matter of lifting responsibility, or has become, as I believe and I always name it, social hypocrisy. So very few, very few, accompany the funeral to obtain this great reward and merit mentioned in this hadith.
And it will come in some of the nearby hadiths that one of the noble Companions did not have knowledge of this hadith, which the first merit of preserving for this Ummah from whoever heard it from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) belongs to Abu Hurayrah, this noble man, to whom the first merit of preserving this hadith belongs; because it was hidden from some of the worshipping, ascetic Companions. You will hear that a discussion took place between some of them regarding this hadith narrated by Abu Hurayrah, and the matter required that they ask the Lady Aisha, so she verified his hadith. Then that Companion, who is Ibn Umar, and who is Ibn Umar, said: "We have lost many qirats."
He who attends the funeral till the prayer is offered for (the dead), for him is the reward of one qirat, and he who attends (and stays) till he is buried, for him is the reward of two qirats.

أصغرهما مثل أحد(A believer) who accompanies the funeral procession of a Muslim out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah's reward and remains with it till the funeral prayer is offered and the burial ceremonies are over, he will return with a reward of two Qirats. Each Qirat is like the size of the (Mount) Uhud. He who offers the funeral prayer only and returns before the burial, will return with the reward of one Qirat only.
