The author says: And from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 946a, narrated by Muslim and Ibn Majah, and Ibn Majah also narrated it from the hadith of Abu ibn Ka'b, adding at the end: Sunan Ibn Majah 1541Sahih (Darussalam).
He who offered prayer for the dead, for him is the reward of one qirat, and he who attended its burial, he would have two qirats as his reward. And qirat is equivalent to Uhud.
مَن صلى على جنازة فله قيراط ، وإن شَهِدَ دفنَها فله قيراطان ، القيراط مثل أحدBy the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad! The Qirat is greater than this (mountain of) Uhud.
والذي نفس محمد بيده ؛ القيراط أعظم من أحد هذا
