Continuation of the explanation of the hadith: (What I called you to), and pointing out the weakness of what is attributed to Ibrahim (peace be upon him) when he was thrown into the fire and the angel came to him

The Shaykh : So, the supplication here is worship, as you heard in the hadith of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). It is obligatory for the Muslim to always direct his heart and his intention toward his Lord (Mighty and Majestic), calling upon Him to forgive him. It is also not correct what is attributed to our father Ibrahim (peace and blessings be upon him) that when his people intended to throw him into the fire, Allah sent Jibril (peace be upon him) to him, and he said to him: Do you have any need of your Lord? He said: "His knowledge of my state is sufficient for me, so I do not need to ask."
This is also a Sufi hadith. I say: Sufi; because some of the Sufis exaggerated in many things in which they exaggerated, so they relied on abandoning this great worship which the Messenger (peace be upon him) made the foundation of worship when he said:. So what did some of the Sufis say? They said: Your asking Him is an accusation against Him! Your asking Him is an accusation against Him! They are the commentators; because... the words of the Sufis are like the Prophetic hadiths; just as the Prophetic hadiths have commentators, so the words of the Sufis have commentators. So they said in explaining this word: Your seeking from Him or asking Him is an accusation against Him; why? They said: Because He knows the secret and what is even more hidden. So why do you ask Him? Does He not know what is in your heart? So these people were heedless of the meaning contained in the servant's turning to his Lord with his supplication, which is the ultimate submission and the manifestation of servitude and need for Him. So your relying only on your knowledge that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) knows what is in your heart has no relation to your servitude, but it has a relation to the lordship of your Lord (Blessed and Exalted is He). And it is obligatory for us to establish our servitude to Him in addition to our belief in His lordship and His divinity (Blessed and Exalted is He). So when that person says: "Your seeking from Him is an accusation against Him," he has abolished the servitude related to Him, and relied on the fact that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) knows the secret and what is even more hidden.
And for that reason, you will find the Qur'an and the hadiths of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) in hundreds of texts about the prophets, the awliya (close friends of Allah), and the righteous, always calling upon Allah (Mighty and Majestic). And how many verses there are about Ibrahim:[Ibrahim 14:37] to the end of the surah, or the end of the surah. And the supplication of Nuh (peace be upon him), the supplication of Ya'qub; meaning, a person could gather the supplications of the prophets and messengers in a booklet and find them many and very many. And He said (Glorified and Exalted is He): [Al-Anbya 21:90]. Whose description is this? The description of His chosen, good servants. Therefore, the error is very great that we turn away from the supplication to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) on the pretext that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) knows the secret and what is even more hidden, and knows the need that any one of us wants.
We say: Yes, but He (Mighty and Majestic) also wants us to humble ourselves to Him, to submit to Him, and to ask Him. Therefore, the urging came in some hadiths from the Messenger (peace be upon him) that one of us should ask his Lord even for the thong of his sandal. What do you think? The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) urged the Muslims to ask Allah (Mighty and Majestic) for the most trivial thing, which is the strap of the "qabaqab" or the strap of the "sharukh" sandal breaking, so he asks his Lord to make a person available to lift it for him or to attach it for him. To this extent, so here the matter of the thong is a trivial matter, but your turning to Allah with it, asking Him to deal with this trivial matter for you, is an establishment of your need and your servitude to Allah (Mighty and Majestic). So how is it that you do not ask Him for Paradise, do not ask Him for protection from the Fire, and do not ask Him as the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) asked:Sunan Ibn Majah 3846Sahih (Darussalam).

As long as you call upon Me.
ما دعوتنيThis is also a Sufi hadith. I say: Sufi; because some of the Sufis exaggerated in many things in which they exaggerated, so they relied on abandoning this great worship which the Messenger (peace be upon him) made the foundation of worship when he said:
Supplication is worship
الدعاء هو العبادةAnd for that reason, you will find the Qur'an and the hadiths of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) in hundreds of texts about the prophets, the awliya (close friends of Allah), and the righteous, always calling upon Allah (Mighty and Majestic). And how many verses there are about Ibrahim:
Our Lord, I have settled some of my descendants
رَبَّنَا إِنِّي أَسْكَنْتُ مِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِيsupplicate Us in hope and fear
يَدْعُونَنَا رَغَبًا وَرَهَبًاWe say: Yes, but He (Mighty and Majestic) also wants us to humble ourselves to Him, to submit to Him, and to ask Him. So how is it that you do not ask Him for Paradise, do not ask Him for protection from the Fire, and do not ask Him as the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) asked:
O Allah, I ask You for Paradise and for that which brings one closer to it, in word and deed, and I seek refuge in You from Hell and from that which brings one closer to it, in word and deed.
