The Permissibility of Appointing an Agent to Slaughter the Pilgrimage Sacrifice or Pay the Expiation for the Pilgrim
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
For one who wants to perform Hajj as a mutamatti' or a qarin: We hear that Al-Rajhi Bank accepts amounts to perform the slaughter of the hady or the fidyah itself, where it is offered in the pilgrim's country, and it performs this work on the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah?
I say: There is no harm in one who has the hady of tamattu' or qiran, or who owes a fidyah; a fidyah for a prohibited act or for leaving an obligatory act, to appoint an agent to do it; but on the condition that the agent is trustworthy and honest. If he is trustworthy and honest, there is no harm; otherwise, he should not appoint an agent. However, even if he is trustworthy and honest, it is better for the pilgrim to do it with his own hand; this is what is best; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) slaughtered his hady with his own hand, and he slaughtered his udhiyah with his own hand, and although he gave 'Ali ibn Abi Talib to complete the slaughter of his hady; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) included him in his hady.
