The Ruling on Reciting the Qur'an at Graves

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
His Eminence the Shaykh: What is the ruling on reciting Surah (Yasin) at the cemetery, or reciting Surah (al-Ikhlas), such as when one of the people says, for example: "Recite Surah al-Ikhlas eleven times"?
Reciting at graves is a religious innovation, whether it is (Yasin) or reciting "Say, He is Allah, the One" or (al-Fatihah). Therefore, a person should not recite at the cemetery, but rather restrict himself to what came from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).So he says: (Peace be upon you, people of this abode, from among the believers and Muslims, and we, if Allah wills, are to follow you. May Allah have mercy on those of you who have gone before and those who come after. We ask Allah for well-being for us and for you. O Allah, do not deprive us of their reward, and do not test us after them, and forgive us and them), then he departs, and does not add to this any recitation or anything else.
