Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (or feeding on a day of hardship)

Allah the Exalted said:
Or feeding on a day of severe hungerأَوْ إِطْعَامٌ فِي يَوْمٍ ذِي مَسْغَبَةٍ
[Surat al-Balad: 14] This is part of the variation, or feeding on a day of hardship,Meaning: a day of severe famine; for people may be afflicted with severe famine, either due to a scarcity of fruit and crops, or due to illnesses in their bodies where a person eats but does not feel full. This has occurred in what we hear about in the Najd region, and perhaps in other places as well, where people eat but do not feel full; one person eats the amount of ten and still does not feel full, and they die of hunger, falling in the markets from hunger. These are days of hardship.
Or a scarcity of the harvest such that the trees do not bear fruit and the crops do not grow; the yield becomes small and hardship results; people die of hunger, and they may even emigrate from their lands. This is feeding on a day of hardship.
