Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (So He inspired it to know its wickedness and its righteousness)]
Allah the Exalted said: [Surat al-Shams: 8] Who is the One who inspires? Allah (Mighty and Majestic),He inspired these souls: They said: in consideration of the rhyming endings of the verses: What is wickedness? We say: It is the opposite of righteousness, and righteousness is obedience to Allah. Therefore, wickedness is disobedience to Allah. So every one who disobeys is wicked, even though the term "wicked" is specifically used in common usage for one who is not chaste, but in the Shari'ah it encompasses everyone who departs from the obedience of Allah,As Allah the Exalted said: [Surat al-Mutaffifin: 7] and the intended meaning is the disbelievers.
And He inspired it to know its righteousness, meaning: As for righteousness, which one is in accordance with the fitrah (the innate natural disposition)? The second or the first? The second; because wickedness is outside the fitrah, but Allah may inspire some souls to deviate, because of His saying, the Exalted: [Surat al-Saff: 5] and Allah the Exalted does not wrong anyone, but as for the one from whom it is known that he hates the truth, Allah turns his heart away. We ask Allah for safety.
Allah the Exalted said:
And He inspired it with its wickedness and its righteousness
فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَاهَاAnd He inspired it with its wickedness and its righteousness
فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَاهَاAnd He inspired it with its wickedness and its righteousness
فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَاهَاNo! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen.
كَلَّا إِنَّ كِتَابَ الْفُجَّارِ لَفِي سِجِّينٍAnd He inspired it to know its righteousness, meaning: As for righteousness, which one is in accordance with the fitrah (the innate natural disposition)? The second or the first? The second; because wickedness is outside the fitrah, but Allah may inspire some souls to deviate, because of His saying, the Exalted:
