The Eclipse Sermon: One of the Regular Sermons

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Sixth: And among the questions asked is: Is the sermon in the eclipse prayer one of the regular sermons or one of the occasional sermons? If an eclipse had occurred in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) two or three times, he would have delivered a sermon on one occasion and left it off on another.

We said: This is one of the occasional sermons, because he did it and left it off, but it only occurred once and he delivered a sermon. For this reason, the scholars (may Allah have mercy on them) differed on whether it is one of the regular sermons.Such that we say: It is prescribed for the imam to deliver a sermon to the people in all circumstances.
Or is it one of the occasional sermons, which he may deliver if he wishes or not deliver if he wishes? What is clear to me is that it is one of the regular sermons, and that it is recommended for every imam who has the ability to deliver a sermon to the people, because of the stirring of awareness and the clarification of the magnitude of this event, so that the people do not leave this place without a sermon. So what I see is that it is one of the regular sermons that is recommended in all circumstances. So whenever the eclipse prayer is performed and the imam has the ability, let him speak to the people and admonish them, and if he is unable and there is among the people someone who is able, let him ask him and say: O so-and-so! Stand up and tell us, and he will tell the people what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) told them.
