Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (He begets not, nor was He begotten)]
Allah the Exalted said: [Surat al-Ikhlas: 3] (He begets not); for He (Exalted and Majestic is He) has no equal, and a child is derived from its father and is a part of him, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding Fatimah: (She is a piece of me) And Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) has no equal. Furthermore, a child is only for the need of him; either for assistance in enduring the hardships of this world, or for the need of the continuation of the lineage. And Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is free of need for that. Therefore, (He begets not); for He has no equal, and because He is free of need for everyone (Mighty and Majestic). And Allah (Mighty and Majestic) has also indicated the impossibility of His begettingIn His saying, the Exalted: [Surat al-An'am: 101] For a child requires a female companion to bear him, and likewise He is the Creator of everything. If He is the Creator of everything, then everything is separate from Him. (Nor was He begotten) And in this phrase is a refutation of three deviant groups among the children of Adam,And they are: the polytheists, the Jews, and the Christians; for the polytheists made the angels, who are the servants of the Most Merciful, females and said: that the angels are the daughters of Allah,And the Jews said: Uzayr is the son of Allah,And the Christians said: and the Messiah is the son of Allah. (Nor was He begotten); for He (Mighty and Majestic) is the First, and there is nothing before Him.
