O honorable Shaykh! My mother fell ill nine days before Ramadan, and she missed five days of Ramadan before she passed away. Does she owe fasting or not? Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good.
If her illness is not expected to be cured, she must feed one poor person for every day; because anyone who Ramadan arrives for while he is in an illness from which recovery is not expected, he must feed one poor person for every day.
