The ruling on forgetting to make up fasts in Ramadan until another Ramadan begins

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first message in this episode is from one of our brother listeners, who indicated his name with the letters (S. V). He says: I remembered, after a year had passed, that I had not fasted one day while I was traveling in Ramadan. Do I have to make up this day and feed people, or what? May Allah reward you with good.
Answer: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon the Messenger of Allah, upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance.
As for what follows: It is obligatory for you to make up this day; because Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says:
and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other daysوَمَنْ كَانَ مَرِيضًا أَوْ عَلَى سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَ
[Surat al-Baqarah: 185].
As for the fact that you were forgetful, this does not prevent you from making up the fast; rather, the sin is dropped from you because of the forgetfulness. You do not have to pay an expiation as long as you did not remember until after another Ramadan; because you are excused due to forgetfulness, and there is no blame on you for not paying an expiation.
However, if you remembered the day before Ramadan and then you were negligent and did not make it up until after Ramadan, you must feed one poor person half a sa' (a dry measure of about 3 kg) of the staple food of the country, whether dates, wheat, rice, or barley, to be given to one poor person. But if the forgetfulness continued with you until another Ramadan entered, then you owe nothing except making up the fast. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
