The Shaykh : If a person has days of Ramadan to make up and he forgot them and did not remember until the second Ramadan had begun, he should continue fasting the second Ramadan. When it ends, he makes up the days he owed from the previous Ramadan. He is not sinful in this case because he is excused due to his forgetfulness. Allah the Exalted said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) interpreted this by saying that a man might forget a prayer or sleep through it. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then he recited the words of Allah the Exalted: Yes.
