Ruling on performing the prayer after its time has passed

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
His Eminence the Shaykh: What is obligatory toward the one who prays the prayers after their times have passed, such as the one who prays Fajr after the sun has risen?
As for what is obligatory toward this man, it is advice. You should advise him and warn him of Allah, and make clear to him the reward and recompense in preserving the prayer. If he is guided, it is for his own benefit; and if he is not guided, he will only harm himself.
As for his action, if he wakes up but is lazy and puts his head back on the pillow, then his prayer after the sun has risen is not accepted from him and does not benefit him with Allah. And the evidence for that is the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): (Whoever does an action that is not in accordance with our command, it is rejected) And it is known that the one who does not pray the Fajr prayer until after the sun has risen, intentionally and while remembering, has done an action that is not in accordance with the command of Allah and His Messenger; so his action is rejected, and his prayer is not accepted from him.Convey this to him from me: If he is woken up but is lazy and remains asleep, then his prayer after the sun has risen is not accepted from him, and he will be held accountable for it on the Day of Resurrection.
