The ruling on praying in the mosque based on its proximity or distance

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Honorable Shaykh! We are a group of young men who gather in our rest area from before Maghrib until after the 'Isha' prayer. We pray in the rest area and do not go to the mosque, which is neither close nor far. Is our prayer valid in this gathering, given that we are ten individuals, sometimes more and sometimes fewer?

The prayer is valid, but say: Is it permissible or not? Some scholars say: If the mosque is close enough that they can reach it on foot, not by car, they must pray in the mosque. However, if they cannot reach it on foot, they pray in their location.
