Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (And if only they had been patient until you came out to them, it would have been better for them)

Then Allah the Exalted said:
And if they had been patient until you [could] come out to them, it would have been better for themوَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ صَبَرُوا حَتَّى تَخْرُجَ إِلَيْهِمْ لَكَانَ خَيْراً لَهُمْ
[Al-Hujurat:5]
And if they had been patient until you [could] come out to themوَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ صَبَرُوا حَتَّى تَخْرُجَ إِلَيْهِمْ
[Al-Hujurat 49:5]
meaning: from your home, and speak to them in the manner they desire,
it would have been better for themلَكَانَ خَيْراً لَهُمْ
[Ali 'Imran 3:110]
in that they should observe proper conduct with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and their need will be fulfilled, because no one came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) with a need except that he fulfilled it, if he was able to do so,And he is the most deserving of people of the saying of the poet:

He never said: (No), never, except in his tashahhud; were it not for the tashahhud, his "no" would have been "yes"
And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
[Al-Hujurat:5] is an indication that Allah forgave them and had mercy on them, and this is from His generosity (Exalted and Majestic is He) that He forgives and has mercy,And Allah the Exalted informed in His Book:
Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than thatإِنَّ اللَّهَ لا يَغْفِرُ أَنْ يُشْرَكَ بِهِ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَلِكَ
[Al-Nisa:48] meaning: other than shirk (associating partners with Allah)
For whom He wills.
[Al-Nisa:48] so whoever commits a sin less than shirk, however great it is, it is under the will of Allah; if He wills, He will punish him, and if He wills, He will forgive him, as long as he does not repent. If he repents, there is no punishment;because of His saying, the Exalted:
(68) And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty. (69) Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated - (70) Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allah will replace their evil deeds with good. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.
[Al-Furqan:68-70] .

Here we said: The verse indicates that Allah forgave them and had mercy on them. From where do we derive this indication? We derive it from the fact that Allah ended the verse with His saying:
And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
[Al-Hujurat:5] and this indicates that He forgave them and had mercy on them,And therefore the scholars said regarding the saying of Allah the Exalted:
(33) Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world; and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment, (34) Except for those who return [repenting] before you apprehend them. And know that Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
[Al-Ma'idah:33-34] the scholars derived from this verse: that these corrupters who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, if they repent before being overcome, the punishment is dropped from them,And they argued by the fact that Allah ended the verse with His saying:
And know that Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
[Al-Ma'idah:34] meaning: He has forgiven them and had mercy on them, and this is a point that a student of knowledge should pay attention to in the verses, that ending the verse after mentioning the ruling is evidence of what is implied by these names with which the verse was ended,For this reason, a man recited: (And the male and female thief, cut off their hands as a recompense for what they have earned, an example from Allah. And Allah is Almighty, Wise) , and a Bedouin heard it from him,So he said to him: He repeated the verse and he repeated it, saying: (And the male and female thief, cut off their hands as a recompense for what they have earned, an example from Allah. And Allah is Almighty, Wise) ,He said to him: He repeated the verse,So he repeated it, and he said:
[As for] the thief, the male and the female, amputate their hands in recompense for what they committed as a deterrent [punishment] from Allah. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.
[Al-Ma'idah:38] he said: now -Meaning: Now I have hit the mark -Then he gave the reason, saying: because if He had forgiven and had mercy, He would not have cut off. Forgiveness and mercy are not compatible with cutting off, but He (Mighty and Majestic) judged and cut off.
So reflect on this understanding, for it is very beneficial for you.

The point of this is that the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And if they had been patient until you [could] come out to them, it would have been better for them. But Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
[Al-Hujurat:5] that the verse indicates that Allah forgave them and had mercy on them.
