The reward of the one who calls to Allah
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Your Eminence! We have heard from some scholars that if a person walks with the thought of calling to Allah the Exalted, and his intention is that the whole world will be guided and enter the religion, and he walks with the thought and concern for this Ummah, then everyone who enters this religion will have a share in the reward. This person went out to call to Allah, but he did not go to all the countries, yet his intention was that the whole world would be guided. So, does everyone who enters the religion have a reward and recompense by virtue of his entry?
No.
If a person has no effect in bringing others into the religion of Allah, he has no reward. The reward is only for the one who guides to good and assists in it. As for the one who intends good, he has—without doubt—the reward of the intention, because he loves that Allah guide the creation, but he is not recorded as having the reward of everyone who believes.
The questioner: Your Eminence! They cite the hadith in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “There are people in Madinah who, whenever you travel a distance or cross a valley, they are with you”, and in another narration: “They have the reward”, meaning that Allah recorded for them the reward based on their intention to be with the Messenger in this expedition? The Shaykh: Yes.
The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) explained that an excuse prevented them. So, were it not for the excuse, they would have gone out with the mujahideen and the reward of this deed would have been recorded for them, but they did not catch up with it.
No.
