The Ruling on Boycotting a Person for More Than Three Days
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Your Eminence! What is your opinion regarding people who have quarreled over worldly matters, such that none of them greets the others, eats with them, or sits with them, and this state continues for months and years? What is your opinion of these people, who are my relatives? May Allah reward you with good.
I say: This is a bad deed, one of the major sins. For it is said: “It is not permissible for a believer to boycott his brother for more than three days. They meet, and this one turns away and that one turns away, and the best of them is the one who begins with the greeting”. And hatred, enmity, and animosity are from the casting of Satan: [Al-Ma'idah: 91]. Likewise, things other than intoxicants and gambling, such as hatred between people, can be a barrier to good. For deeds are presented to Allah the Mighty and Majestic on Mondays and Thursdays. Allah the Mighty and Majestic looks, and if there is hatred and enmity between two people, He the Mighty and Majestic says: “Look at these two until they reconcile”. It is also reported that hatred prevents the blessing of the Night of Decree, and that two people between whom there is hatred and enmity are not forgiven on this great night.
It is obligatory for you to strive for reconciliation between them, even if you cut off a portion of your wealth for this purpose;Because you will gain three benefits: The first benefit: that you spend your wealth in obedience to Allah.
The second benefit: that you reconcile between two Muslims.
The third benefit: that you be the cause of maintaining family ties; for these are relatives. If you reconcile between them, you remove the hatred and enmity, and then you make them communicate. You will be the cause, so strive, may Allah reward you with good, to seek reconciliation between them as much as you can, even with something from your wealth.

Satan only wants to cause between you animosity and hatred through intoxicants and gambling
It is obligatory for you to strive for reconciliation between them, even if you cut off a portion of your wealth for this purpose;Because you will gain three benefits: The first benefit: that you spend your wealth in obedience to Allah.
