The existence of the people of Paradise and the people of the Fire in them is a matter of the unseen

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
In the biography: That the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when he was raised to the heavens, looked upon the people of Paradise and saw that most of them were the poor and the needy, then he looked upon the people of the Fire and saw that most of them were women,And also it came in the biography of the Tabi'un: That Sufyan al-Thawri (may Allah have mercy on him) was seen in a dream, and it was said to him: What has Allah done with you?So he said: I placed one foot on the Sirat and the other in Paradise.
So does the Sirat exist now? And are the people of Paradise in it, and the people of the Fire in it as well? What is the detail of this?
I say—may Allah reward you all—that matters of the unseen should not be investigated regarding their modality or delved into deeply; because this is from excessive strictness, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: (The excessive are destroyed! The excessive are destroyed! The excessive are destroyed!),And Imam Malik said to the one who asked him: How did Allah rise above the Throne? He said to him: (The rising is known, but the modality is unknown) these matters are obligatory to believe in and not to investigate, and for this reason the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) threw this hadith at his Companions and not one of them uttered a word saying: How is that, O Messenger of Allah? Until he informed that he heard the clatter of Bilal's sandals,And yet they did not say: How, O Messenger of Allah? Bilal is in the world, he did not go to the Hereafter and did not come? But they believed and affirmed.

So my advice to you all: That such matters you believe in them according to their apparent meaning and you say: They are truth, and as for how is that? And are the people of Paradise now existing in it, and the people of the Fire existing in it? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw from the people of Paradise whom he saw, and he saw from the people of the Fire whom he saw, he saw 'Amr ibn Luhay dragging his intestines,Meaning: his intestines in the Fire, and he saw a woman being tormented for a cat she had confined, and he saw in it the owner of the pick who steals from pilgrims with his pick,So the result is that I advise you: Do not expose yourselves to such questions.
As for my position in this, it is the position of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them),That I say: I believed in Allah and in the Messenger of Allah, and in what came from Allah and His Messenger, and I do not go beyond that,And I say: The Messenger (may the prayer and peace of Allah be upon him) informed us in the Mi'raj about what he saw, and it is truth.

And I say: Indeed, if we adhere to this path, we will be at ease, and whoever asks us, we clarify to him that there is no path to knowledge of this, and that our position regarding it is delegation,Meaning: Delegation of the modality to Allah (Mighty and Majestic), as for the meaning, we know the meaning.
