Ruling on Writing on the Mushaf

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Your Eminence! There is a phenomenon appearing among school students and students in Quran memorization groups, which is the disrespect shown to the Noble Quran, writing on it, and writing things that are not befitting in this Noble Book. What is the advice for those responsible for these schools?
The Shaykh : It is obligatory for Muslims to honor the words of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and to respect them. For this reason, it is obligatory for anyone who intends to touch the Quran to perform wudu' (ablution) as a sign of respect and honor for this Quran. It is not permissible to write on the Quran phrases that are not befitting. In fact, even phrases that are befitting, such as an explanation of a word or something similar, it is better not to write them on the Quran so that nothing else becomes mixed with the Quran.
And if this happens with the students, it is obligatory for those responsible for the students, such as supervisors and teachers, to punish whoever does this with what they see as a deterrent for them and for others like them.
