Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (And what can make you know what the night visitor is? * It is the piercing star)]

Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Tariq: 2] This is a question of magnification.

Meaning: What thing will inform you about this night visitor, which is the star?Then He (Mighty and Majestic) clarified His meaning by saying: [Al-Tariq: 3] That is: it is the piercing star that pierces the darkness with its light, derived from piercing a nail into wood. It splits the darkness until its light reaches the earth. This is not evident in our present time in cities because the earth is filled with electric lights. However, if you go out to the open desert, far from places with electricity, you will see the illumination of the stars on the earth clearly. Its appearance becomes evident when the sky is darkened by clouds, where the earth is even darker. For this reason, Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) named the star "the piercing one" because it pierces the darkness with its light, meaning it penetrates it until it reaches the earth.
