The meaning of the saying of Allah the Exalted: "And what can make you know what al-Tariq is? It is the piercing star."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Allah, Mighty and Majestic, said this to emphasize its importance:
And what makes you know what the star that comes down is? وما أدراك ما الطارق
This means: What can inform you about this al-Tariq, which was worthy of Allah swearing by it? Allah explained it by saying: Who knows?
The piercing star. النجم الثاقب
This is al-Tariq. It is called al-Tariq because it appears at night. In the Arabic language, al-Tariq is the one who comes to his family at night or the one who arrives at night. Accordingly, al-Tariq is the piercing star. It pierces what? It pierces the darkness of the night with its light. For this reason, if you go to a place without electricity, you will find the lights of the stars clearly visible. It pierces the darkness with its light, and it pierces the Shaytan with a blazing fire. It pierces the Shaytan with a blazing fire. What is it? The Shaytan. The Shayatins gather together until they reach the sky to eavesdrop on the hearing. These Shayatins have fortune-tellers on earth who take charge of them and receive them. The Shaytan brings the news of the sky to the fortune-teller, and then the fortune-teller spreads it among the people. The fortune-teller, I mean, acts as a judge among the people, ruling between them. For this reason, in the pre-Islamic age of ignorance, they used to come to the fortune-tellers to seek their judgment. But Islam abolished that, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
or who goes to a fortuneteller and believes what he says, he has disbelieved in that which was revealed to Muhammad. من أتى كاهنا فصدقه بما يقول فقد كفر بما أنزل على محمد
Sunan Ibn Majah 639Hasan (Darussalam)
(peace and blessings be upon him). When the piercing star pierces, what does it pierce? It pierces, it pierces the darkness with its light. This is one thing. And it pierces.
The student: With a blazing fire.

The Shaykh : With a blazing fire. May Allah bless you. This interpretation of the piercing star is an interpretation by whom? It is an interpretation by Allah, Mighty and Majestic. No one interprets the Qur'an with anything better than the interpretation of the One who spoke the Qur'an, and He is Allah.
