Boycoting one's wife for the purpose of discipline
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
A man has a wife, and he has boycotted her in the bed to discipline her.Question: How long should the boycott in the bed last, especially if this boycott does not benefit the woman?
Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, mentioned three stages in His Noble Book:So he said: [Surah al-Nisa: 34], and this is the first thing a man begins with when he fears his wife's marital defiance. [Surah al-Nisa: 34] This is the second stage. [Surah al-Nisa: 34] This is the third stage. If the boycott does not benefit, he strikes her, but with a strike that is not severe,Meaning: not painful or hurtful; because the intention is discipline. However, he should not resort to striking except in extreme cases; because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) condemned a man who beats his wife like a slave and then lies with her; because this is something not acceptable by the nature of creation. How can a woman be reconciled with a man who struck her hours ago and now lies with her! This is far from the hearts and the innate natural disposition. Therefore, he should not resort to striking after a boycott that did not benefit except in a case of dire necessity. If the situation improves after the striking, otherwise two arbitrators are appointed: one from his family and one from her family, and they reconcile between them. It is obligatory for these two men to fear Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and to take justice, and to seek reconciliation. And Allah the Exalted said: [Surah al-Nisa: 35] meaning: the husband and the wife and the two arbitrators: [Surah al-Nisa: 35].
