The ruling on one who is uncertain about the number of days she fasted to make up for Ramadan

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Honorable Shaykh! A woman has days to make up from Ramadan, and she fasted some days, but she is in doubt whether she completed the days she missed or not. What should she do in this situation? The Shaykh: If the woman has made up the fasting that is due from her, and then she doubts whether she completed what was due from her or not, then if she is one who suffers from obsessive doubts (waswas), she should not pay attention to it, and the making up is finished, and there is no need to return to it. But if she is not one who suffers from obsessive doubts and this doubt of hers is genuine, then she must make up the days she is in doubt about.

The questioner: Do you estimate the days? The Shaykh: Yes, she estimates the days, but only if she is not one who suffers from obsessive doubts; because the one who suffers from obsessive doubts—may Allah grant us safety—if he obeys his self and brings forth what he is in doubt about, his self will bring him another doubt.
