Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (When the sky is split)]

The surah we are beginning with now is the saying of Allah the Exalted:

When the sky has split [open]

إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْشَقَّتْ

[Al-Inshiqaq:1] (split) means it opened and split apart,Like His saying, the Exalted:

And when the heaven is opened

وَإِذَا السَّمَاءُ فُرِجَتْ

[Al-Mursalat:9] ,And as He, the Exalted, said:

⁽³⁷⁾ And when the heaven is split open and becomes rose-colored like oil - ⁽³⁸⁾ So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? - ⁽³⁹⁾ Then on that Day none will be asked about his sin among men or jinn.

فَإِذَا انْشَقَّتِ السَّمَاءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَالدِّهَانِ * فَبِأَيِّ آلاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ * فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لا يُسْأَلُ عَنْ ذَنْبِهِ إِنْسٌ وَلا جَانٌّ

[Al-Rahman:37-39] , so its splitting is on the Day of Resurrection.
