Then Allah the Exalted said:

give them tidings of a painful punishment.

فَبَشِّرْهُمْ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ

[Surah al-Inshiqaq: 24] Inform them of the painful punishment that is bound to occur,The address in His saying: ((So give them the glad tidings)) [Surah al-Inshiqaq: 24] is general for the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and for everyone to whom the address is valid; whoever the address is valid for is included in this. So we give every disbeliever the glad tidings of the painful punishment that awaits him,As Allah the Exalted said:

and wait. Indeed, they are waiting.

وَانْتَظِرْ إِنَّهُمْ مُنْتَظِرُونَ

[Surah al-Sajdah: 30] .
