Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (Iram, the one with the pillars)

Allah the Exalted said:
Iramإِرَمَ
[Al-Fajr: 7] This is a description of the tribe,And it was said: a name for the city, and it has been said otherwise. Whether it is a name for the tribe or a name for the city, Allah the Exalted dealt with them with a severe punishment, even though they were strong.

And his statement:
(7) [With] Iram - who had lofty pillars, (8) The likes of whom had never been created in the land?ذَاتِ الْعِمَادِ * الَّتِي لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِي الْبِلادِ
[Al-Fajr: 7-8] The people of the pillars, meaning: the strong buildings:
The likes of whom had never been createdالَّتِي لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا
[Al-Fajr 89:8]
meaning: nothing like it was made in the lands; because it was strong and well-constructed,And this is what deluded them, and they said: Who is stronger than us in power? And in His saying, the Exalted:
had never been created in the land?لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِي الْبِلادِ
[Al-Fajr 89:8]
Even though the one who made it was the human being, and this is evidence that the human being may be described as creating, so it is said he created such and such, and from this is the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the image-makers: (It will be said to them: Bring to life what you have created) But the creation attributed to the created being is not the creation attributed to Allah. The creation attributed to Allah is bringing into existence after non-existence, and transforming and changing. As for the creation attributed to other than Allah, it is merely transforming and changing.

And I give you an example: This door is made of wood. Who created the wood? Allah. It is not possible for humans to create it. But humans can transform logs of wood and trunks of wood into doors and cabinets and the like. So the creation attributed to the created being is not the creation attributed to the Creator. What is the difference? The creation attributed to the Creator is bringing into existence from nothing, and no one considers this trivial. As for what is attributed to the created being, it is changing and transforming, transforming a thing from one attribute to another. As for changing the essences,Meaning: making gold into silver, or silver into iron, or the like, this is impossible. It cannot be done, and no one is capable of it except Allah alone, who has no partner.
