The Difference Between Supporting the Disbelievers and Taking Them as Allies

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Honorable Shaykh! What is the difference between supporting the disbelievers and taking them as allies?

The meaning of supporting is: Supporting them and assisting them in their matters of disbelief. This includes Muslims fighting alongside the disbelievers;Meaning: for example, if the disbelievers invade one of the Islamic countries, this Muslim takes them as allies, supports them, and helps them against this city in battle, whether with weapons or by supplying them with anything that helps them fight the Muslims. This is part of supporting them, and it is also part of taking them as allies, for here, supporting and taking as allies mean giving aid and being on their side against the Muslims.
As for seeking their help, this depends on the benefit. If there is a benefit in it, then there is no harm, provided that we fear their evil and treachery, and that they do not deceive us. If there is no benefit in it, then it is not permissible to seek their help, for there is no good in them.
