The Ruling on Things a Dog Sniffs or Touches
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
His Eminence the Shaykh: All the brothers and sisters in the Eastern Region send their greetings to you,And my question is: saying that there are inspection points in some major institutions where trained dogs are used. The dog enters the front of the car and then begins to sniff and lick.
Do the seats and places that the dog sniffed or lick become ritually impure because of this? May Allah reward you with good.
As for sniffing, it does not cause harm; because no saliva comes out of the dog. As for licking, saliva comes out of the dog. If the dog’s saliva touches clothes or something similar to them, it must be washed seven times,And we do not say: one of which with dust; because it may cause harm,But we say: soap or something similar to it from the cleaning agents is used in place of the dust, and this is sufficient along with the seven washings.
