Q: The brother A. B. from Alexandria says in his question: What is the ruling on reciting the Qur'an in a house where there is a dog?
A: There is no harm in that, and it is obligatory to remove the dog and not let it remain in the house, except if it is for one of three purposes: hunting, farming, or herding; based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Riyad as-Salihin 1688 agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim. And success is from Allah.
