[The ruling on pairing the phrase (There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger) in other than the tashahhud]

His Eminence the Shaykh: Is it permissible to pair the phrase: There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger, in other than the tashahhud? And what is your opinion of those who deny that?

Yes, it is permissible for a person to say: There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah,Or he says: I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah,And he says: I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger,And he says: There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger; all of this is permissible, but the formulation that was transmitted is better than the others.
And whoever denies that in other than the tashahhud, let him bring the evidence, for as long as it is permissible in the tashahhud, it is permissible in other places.
