Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (And he certainly saw Him in another descent)]
Pay attention to this great point, and by "point" I mean: the profound wisdom; where the expressions of the Noble Qur'an convey something contrary to what is expected, there must be a lesson that becomes apparent to the one who reflects. [Surah al-Najm: 12-13] The one who saw is the actor: Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family),And the object of the verb: Jibril,Meaning: Muhammad saw Jibril. (In another descent) means: another time when He descended. So what was the first time? The first time, the Messenger (may the prayer and peace of Allah be upon him) saw Jibril in the Cave of Hira. He saw him in the form in which he was created. Do you know how he saw him? He saw him with six hundred wings that blocked the horizon. This indicates his greatness. The entire horizon around the Messenger (may the prayer and peace of Allah be upon him) in Hira was blocked by the wings of this noble angel. For this reason, Allah described him as one of strength, [Surah al-Takwir: 20] and as one of majesty,Meaning: a beautiful form, as mentioned earlier in this surah. So he saw him once on earth and once in the horizon of the sky. On earth, he was in the Cave of Hira. As for in the sky, it was above the sky. So at times he saw him from beneath the sky, from above the earth, and at times from above the sky.And for this he said:[An-Najm 53:13] Descent means: another time.
