Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (that He saw him to be self-sufficient)]

Allah the Exalted said:
Because he sees himself self-sufficient.أَنْ رَآهُ اسْتَغْنَى
[Al-Alaq:7] Man is not a specific individual, but rather the species is intended; every human being from the descendants of Adam, when he sees that he is self-sufficient, he transgresses in transgression: which is exceeding the limit. When he sees that he is self-sufficient regarding the mercy of Allah, he transgresses and does not care. When he sees that he is self-sufficient regarding Allah the Mighty and Majestic in removing distress and obtaining necessities, he becomes one who does not turn to Allah and does not care. When he sees that he is self-sufficient through health, he forgets illness. When he sees that he is self-sufficient through satiety, he forgets hunger. When he sees that he is self-sufficient through clothing, he forgets nakedness.
And so on.
So, it is in the nature of man to transgress and rebel whenever he sees himself in abundance. However, the believer is an exception to this; because the believer does not see himself as self-sufficient regarding Allah for the blink of an eye. He is always in need of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), asking his Lord for every need, and turning to Him in every adversity. He sees that if Allah leaves him to himself, He leaves him to weakness and incapacity, and that he has no power to benefit or harm himself. This is the believer. But man, in his capacity as man, has transgression in his nature. And this is like His saying, the Exalted:
but man [undertook to] bear it. Indeed, he was unjust and ignorant.وَحَمَلَهَا الإِنْسَانُ إِنَّهُ كَانَ ظَلُوماً جَهُولاً
[Al-Ahzab: 72] .
