What is the authenticity of the hadith narrated by Umm Salama: (That the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed two units after the afternoon prayer)?
This is authentic; because when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was occupied from the two units after the midday prayer, a delegation came to him and he was occupied with them, then he made them up after the afternoon prayer, and then he continued with it; because it was his habit that when he did a deed, he established it, so he established it (peace and blessings be upon him). But it is not permissible for others to do that. He may pray the regular voluntary prayer of the midday prayer if he missed it due to forgetfulness or being occupied after the afternoon prayer, but he does not continue with this. This is the aspect of the hadith.
