How did you authenticate the athar of Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), which states (that it is part of the Sunnah to recite the tashahhud quietly), when everyone who narrated it through Ibn Ishaq did not explicitly state that he heard it?

The questioner : The first issue, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : It is that Abu Ishaq is in it.

The questioner : Ibn Ishaq, and he did not explicitly state that he heard it.

The Shaykh : Very good, may Allah bless you. There is a matter here related to fiqh, not to hadith. Therefore, we criticize many of the young students of hadith today who assume that one who has mastered the science of hadith but has not mastered fiqh can authenticate and weaken hadiths. I say that such a person is like a non-Arab who can never master the science of hadith if he is a non-Arab who does not know the Arabic language well.
Likewise, I say that a student of knowledge cannot authenticate or weaken hadiths with knowledge unless he is a jurist, because some hadiths are supported in their authentication by fiqh matters, even if they have an apparent defect. Now I will mention two things here. The first thing: if we look past this hadith and assume that it did not come at all, not with a valid, good, or weak chain, and has no basis whatsoever, if we assume this, a question will arise: What is the Sunnah in the tashahhud? Is it loud or quiet? What will be the answer of the jurist?

The questioner : Quiet.

The Shaykh : Fine. Where did this come from? From the hadith of Abu Ishaq? No, where did it come from? I do not want to go into where it came from. It is enough for you to know that the one who came with this quietness is the one who strengthened the hadith of Abu Ishaq. Clear?

The questioner : Very much.

The Shaykh : And the free man is sufficient with a gesture.

The questioner : About three or four days ago, a book came into my hands, its name is "The Description of the Prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." Its title is similar to the title of your book, "The Description of the Prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)."

The Shaykh : I think I made a mistake.

The questioner : Authentic

The Shaykh : I made a mistake.

The questioner : I made a mistake. Ah, it is possible.

The Shaykh : The name is correct: "The Description of the Prayer."

The questioner : Correct: "The Description of the Prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)."

The Shaykh : Yes, that is correct.

The questioner : And this book that was published.

The Shaykh : It is this one.

The questioner : This book that was published.

The Shaykh : The one you mean is the one named "Correct."

The questioner : As for your book, "The Description of the Prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)."

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh: Okay

The questioner : Also, three or four volumes of a book of "Responses to such and such and such." I do not know, I mean, whether what was responded to in your book is a misprint or if he is also mistaken. I do not know. I mean, I really encountered this matter.

The Shaykh : You are not the first to be deceived by the moon.

Another questioner : Our Shaykh, perhaps the brother was correct at first. "The Description of the Prayer of the Prophet" by Mazen Badran, in which he addressed you in three issues.

The Shaykh : Let me hear this detail from him.
