What is your opinion of the book *Sahih Sifat Salat al-Nabi (peace and blessings be upon him)* and its author?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : About three or four days ago, a book came into my hands, its name being "Sifat Salat al-Nabi (peace and blessings be upon him)," which resembles the title of your book, "Sifat Salat al-Nabi (peace and blessings be upon him)."

The Shaykh : I think I made a mistake.

The questioner: Correct.

The Shaykh : I made a mistake.

The questioner : I made a mistake.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : Yes, you may.

The Shaykh : The name is "Sahih Sifat Salat al-Nabi."

The questioner : "Sahih Sifat Salat al-Nabi (peace and blessings be upon him)," and this is the book that was published.

The Shaykh : It is this.

The questioner : This book.

The Shaykh : The one you mean is the one named "Sahih."

The questioner : As for your book, "Sifat Salat al-Nabi (peace and blessings be upon him)."

The Shaykh : Yes, indeed.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh: All right.

The questioner : Also, three or four volumes of a book of responses to such and such and such; I don't know, I mean, whether what he responded to in your book was a verification or whether he was also mistaken; I don't know, I mean, did this actually happen in this matter?

The Shaykh : "You are not the first to be deceived by the moon."

The questioner : Our Shaykh, perhaps the brother was correct in the beginning: "Sifat Salat al-Nabi" by Mazin Jubran, which addressed you in three issues.

The Shaykh : Let me hear this detail from him.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : What is the size of the book that...?

The questioner : Approximately 350 pages.

The Shaykh : Did you hear? Did you hear?

The questioner : The first is a booklet.

The Shaykh : I knew that it was, I mean, "Sahih Sifat Salat."

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : My brother, this is a man; I do not want us to speak now.

The questioner : It is not about the man; I mean, what is in the book is as if he is being harsh on the man, I mean.

The Shaykh : Yes, that is enough, but you did not know the man, nor did you know...

The questioner : I saw him once, yes.

The Shaykh : May Allah protect you from his evil and from his tongue; this man...

The questioner : And I saw the Shaykh Shu'ayb al-Arna'ut (may Allah preserve him) say to him: "Be polite with the scholars"; that is what he said to him.

The Shaykh : The point, may Allah reward you, is that this man, in this book only, and take it as a lesson: he took my book, took from it what agreed with his Shafi'i madhhab, took from it what agreed with his Shafi'i madhhab, and deleted what contradicted his Shafi'i madhhab. Then he added to this book, which he named—may he have been content as I was content with "Sifat Salat al-Nabi"—and he only added "Sahih Salat al-Nabi"; may he have limited himself to that. Instead, he placed under the title "Sahih Sifat Salat" innovations agreed upon by the scholars, for example, he said: "It is a sunnah to verbalize the intention."

The questioner : Verbalizing.

The Shaykh : Verbalizing: "I intend to pray for Allah the Exalted four rak'ahs of the obligatory 'Isha' prayer, following this imam."

The questioner : Why did you call it an intention?

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : So why did you call it an intention?

The Shaykh : No, we...

The questioner: I know.

The Shaykh : No, we do not want to discuss this now. He says: What is agreed upon by the scholars, even the Shafi'is, whom he claims to be a follower of? Imam al-Rafi'i and Imam al-Nawawi say: "Verbalizing the intention is nothing." He says: It is a sunnah. In which book? "Sahih Sifat Salat al-Nabi." And let it be reported from him, there is no harm. And I wrote some words in some books, which, if Allah wills, will be published. As for responding to this book, that is a waste of time and forbidden, because it means destroying crops and offspring. He declares Ibn Taymiyyah a disbeliever in the presence of a group of witnesses. He declares the Salaf, Hammad ibn Salimah, a disbeliever. Hammad ibn Salimah, about whom some of the imams say: "If you see a man attacking Hammad ibn Salimah, know that he is an innovator," or as he said. This man is... he is attacking Hammad ibn Salimah. Why? Because he narrated some hadiths in which the divine attributes are affirmed. The man is one who denies the divine attributes. If it were not that it is not permissible for us to take him by his words, we would have judged him an apostate, because he judges Allah as non-existent. And what do you say about a person who says: "Allah is not inside the world nor outside it"? If it were said to the most eloquent of people: "Describe for us the non-existent, what is it?" He would not be able to describe it with more than what this non-existent is described with. This one who says: "Allah is not above, not below, not to the right, not to the left, not in front, not behind, not inside the world, nor outside it." So what is it...? He is the Lord of the worlds, in his view. This, despite the fact that he denies the verses of Allah's rising above His creation and the mass-transmitted hadiths regarding that. And al-Dhahabi wrote his book "Al-'Uluw" (The Rising) and so on. He denies the testimony of the senses and the intellect, which is certain that there are two existences, contrary to the extremists of the Sufis who say: "It is not He but He," and everything you see with your eye is Allah. And so they divided tawhid (the oneness of Allah) into three categories: tawhid of the common people, which is "There is no god but Allah"; tawhid of the special people, which is "It is not He but He"; and tawhid of the special among the special, which is "He is He." When this man says: "Allah is not inside the world nor outside it," he has judged Him as non-existent, having no existence. This is disbelief. But we cannot declare him a disbeliever until the proof is established against him. But the man does not intend... absolutely not, otherwise... The advice of the brother Shu'ayb, as you quoted from him, is that he does not respect...

The questioner : In front of me, he said this; he said to him: "The tone in which you address the scholars."

The Shaykh : There is no power nor strength except with Allah. The important thing...

The questioner : And the three books, the three responses, these are correct. He said in his "Sahih" such and such, and he said...

The Shaykh : He fabricates and lies. He takes some of the speech and leaves some. The second one has responses to him. Do I know if it reached you or not?

The questioner : It did not reach me.

The Shaykh : Perhaps you should ask before you travel.
